Let me show you some of my favorite features in Khan Academy. So once you've got your classes set up, the first thing I want to show you and talk about is the writing coach. There are so many great features built into Khan Academy's writing coach. I don't even know where to start. First notice all the different categories of writing that you can choose from. I mean, they have many shapes. You can also filter by grade level, find the one you teach. Let's just do seventh grade because that's what I taught last year. Look what pops up. Nothing like the classic dress code debate along with so many other applicable real world ready to use writing assignments that you can take and use right now in your classroom. As an educator, you also have the ability to preview the activities before assigning them. And what I really love is not only do they give you the prompt idea, they also provide the educator with tips and guidance and things that will help you as you go through modeling the writing with your own students. You also have the ability as you find activities to favor them for later. It's a common misconception that the older students get the less resources there are for educators. But this essay caught my eye and I will definitely be trying this one with my high schoolers this year.
