Restaurant ads that fill tables on the slow nights

Nobody books a table because of a slogan. They book because a dish looks worth leaving the house for, for an occasion they already have. Good restaurant ads show the food, name the moment and make booking one tap. Here's what works, hooks to adapt, and how Adwright makes the ads.

The food is the ad

Your best-selling dish, shot close in good light, does more than any headline. Use your real food, not stock photos: a regular will spot a fake in a second, and so will a first-timer when the plate arrives. Steam, a pour, a cut through the middle: Stories, Reels and TikTok were made for those few seconds.

Name the occasion

People eat out for a reason. An ad for a reason beats an ad for a restaurant.

  • Date night, birthdays, Sunday lunch, brunch with friends.
  • Set menus and lunch deals for people with an hour.
  • Events: quiz night, live music, a guest chef, a tasting menu.
  • The calendar: Christmas parties, Valentine's, Mother's Day. Advertise these early, when people are deciding.

Fill the slow nights

Most places are full on Friday and Saturday. Put your money behind the quiet nights with an offer for those nights only: a two-course deal on Tuesdays, a free dessert midweek, a kids-eat-free early evening. The ad only needs to reach people close enough to come tonight or this week.

Close, and easy to book

Most diners don't travel far for a regular meal out, so target the area around you and say where you are. Put the booking link or the order link in the ad, and keep the menu online and current so the click lands somewhere useful.

How Adwright makes your ads

  1. 1

Paste your website or menu page. Adwright reads your dishes, prices, photos, opening hours and reviews and builds your brand kit, so every ad looks like your place.

  2. 2

It researches the restaurants and cafes you compete with, reads their offers and, where they advertise, their ads in Meta's Ad Library, so you see what's being promoted nearby and what isn't.

  3. 3

It makes ads for Stories, Reels, TikTok and the feeds, and video ads in several styles, each at the platform's size with the post copy written. Make a set for each night, event or season.

You download your ads (pictures as PNG files) with their post copy and run them from your own ad account, such as Meta Ads Manager or TikTok Ads Manager. Your ad budget is between you and the platform: an Adwright plan pays for making the ads.

FAQ

Questions, answered

They can, when the ad shows a dish worth going out for, names an occasion and is shown to people close enough to come. Ads for a specific night or event usually do better than ads for the restaurant in general.

Yes. Adwright reads the photos on the page you paste, so a website or menu page with good pictures of your real dishes gives it the most to work with. Any ad can be edited or made again with a note.

Earlier than feels natural: people book group meals and special nights well ahead. Have the ad ready when you open bookings, then run a reminder closer to the date for the last tables.

Yes, within Meta's alcohol rules: alcohol ads can't be shown to anyone under 18 (21 in the US) and aren't allowed at all in some countries. Leading with the food usually works better anyway.
